VISION
Here is this weeks leadership team training on VISION
Genesis 13:13 – 15 “The LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, 15for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever.”
Great leaders are observant
“Lift up your eyes and look …”
Great leaders are visionary realists
“… look from the place where you are …”
Great leaders work hard to see situations from every perspective
“… northward and southward and eastward and westward …”
Great leaders recognize they need help to walk in what they see
“… for all the land that you see I will give to you …”
Great leaders understand that their vision is never just about them
“… I will give to you and to your offspring forever…”
“JUST GO DOWN THE MIDDLE”
That was what Shaun White proposed to do after having secured the Gold Medal in the Men’s halfpipe with a score of 46.8 out of 50. For champions, just going down the middle is never an option. What did White do? Posted a 48.4 on his second run! Why?
1. Champions are repulsed by the status quo.
2. Champions always push to be a little better.
3. Champions understand that the score is just a product of the journey.
4. Champions work hard to have a platform … and work hard to keep it.
I have to admit that I am not much of a skier and even less of a snowboarder, but I am inspired by the commitment and excellence of men and women who devote themselves to becoming the best. I am even more inspire by men and women who devote themselves to staying the best. That is what champions do.

valentine’s day
When I married April, I made a commitment to honor and serve her the rest of my life. I am blessed to be in covenant with a lady that make that endeavor extremely easy. For us, marriage and family have been a huge source of meaning, purpose, and joy in our lives. Isn’t that the way God intended it to be? I recently visited a member of our church family who is 96 years old. I was so moved by the way his young wife (she is only 92) was obviously still passionately in love with him. Isn’t that the plan … for our love to continue to grow and reflect the heart of a loving God. If we desire our marriage relationships to be strong, we must be intentional about their growth. Very few things get me more excited than seeing relationships work God’s way. We are so looking forward to our UNITE marriage conference that is February 26 and 27. If you are in love and you still want to be that way when you are 96 (or 92) this conference can help put you on that track!
